Basics of Photography
Every month, we will have various presentations centering around a topic that covers basic elements of photography. Fundamentals are key to becoming a better photographer. This would include things like lighting and composition. Even if you have learned it all before or you have never heard of anything we talk about, everyone can learn something new. We will present with slideshows with example pictures and simple diagrams that make it easy and fun to learn.
Presentations
Each meeting there will be a presentation either by us or guest speakers that display a certain type of photography or photographic topic. This section will be called "Let's Focus!" Presentations can range from portrait studio demonstrations to photographers talking about their specialty or expertise. This portion of the meeting is meant to be both fun and informative while showing the many different types of photography.
Field Trips
The fastest way to becoming a better photographer is to practice. We will explore many different types of photography and enjoy a hands-on adventure into the world of photography. Field trips will include day-trips to local parks and scenic areas, concerts, and even sports events. These trips will be purely optional.
Contests!
Each month we will set a subject (or topic) for you to photograph. Be as creative as you like! We will provide sleeves that you can put your printed pictures in and everyone will vote on the one that they think is the best. There will be prizes!
